My Studio/Workshop Tour....

I think I'm having a reality check as I write about these pictures....
I need to:
A: Clean up my space
B:Close my eyes and sleep my problem away
C: Get a bigger Studio space!

This art clutter is unbelievable!
I found a large bin full of my "mini" work that has never been seen by anyone before( not hardly by me either)!
There's a large closet to the right full of unpainted canvas!
I literally have hundreds of cans of spray paint.... this basket is nothing!
I'm thinking about having a Studio Party Close Out SALE!
what do you think?
(leave your comment below)

Stacks of paintings through out!
And this is only my "indoor" studio at my house!! I have a another one...... stay tuned for pix on that space!
If you would like to come visit and check it all out, leave me a comment!

CRYSTAL CITY (ARLINGTON), VA - An office building will get a radical makeover into a progressive, contemporary exhibition space as G-40: The Summit rolls into Crystal City this March 2010. An artistic interpretation of the G-20 political summit, the G-40 will occupy 80,000 square feet of exhibit space with four floors. Each floor will have 10-30 featured artists who will activate the space with murals and installations, setting the mood for their state.

Sponsored by The Crystal City BID, Art Whino and Vornado, the mission of G-40: The Summit is to bring the leaders of the New Brow genre of contemporary underground art together in an effort to explore, discuss and grow this movement, which viewers may recognize from the work of the “Obama Hope Poster” artist, Shepard Fairey. Different hubs of the New Brow movement will be showcased at G-40 including the DC, New York, and California metro areas, in addition to international work.

Throughout the month of the exhibit, G-40 will host musical and visual performances, lectures, and more. From live mural painting to resident DJ’s, G-40:The Summit presents a dynamic new gallery experience bringing visionary artists from across the world to Crystal City.

Pre Register for my Stencil Class in June

No country craft stencils here! It looks like silk screening, but it's stenciling!

The Stencil class will be taught by Kim McCarthy aka SOULE of Urban Soule Design.

This class jumps into action with Kim guiding you through the entire process from the creation of the stencil,
to applying the stencil image on multiple surfaces, using a variety of mediums. Learn to transfer your images onto fabric, paper, wood and many other surfaces.

This is a very fun, hands-on class so you should wear "painting clothes".

Students are encouraged to give renewed life to their vintage clothes, bags, 100% cotton shirt or fabric. (100% cotton works best but a cotton/poly blend will do, shirts with ribbing (raised vertical lines) do NOT stencil well)
also recommend: pillow cases, tote bags, sketchbooks, canvas, etc... which you should bring to apply your stencil(s) on.

* All paint and other materials will be provided for use in the class only. (other stencil material, X-acto knife, cutting board and paints)

Bring your own black and white image to use for the stencil
(printed on paper), keep in mind
you may be tracing the image so the simpler and cleaner the lines, the better.

No more than 5 students per class to allow for plenty of individual instruction.

You will leave the class with your printed stenciling samples, instructions, the custom stencils that you designed for this class, and the confidence to personalize your life with creative stenciling designs!

Ages 18+ only. All levels welcome.

Cost: per person (includes materials fee)

Time: Roughly 3-5hrs

You can reach Kim at for more information
