the Remix Series....

I've started a new batch of work called the "Remix Series"
Called that because they are older paintings of mine that I basically "Remixed" into new images.
Most are a series of three canvas hooked together to make one large image.
They also fold up to make transporting them easier, in 2013 I will be making a "Mix+Match" series of the same look, where you get to choose your three canvas panels to make a custom piece of art!
Stay tuned!

Deer Family, a Bunny and Parenthood....

Starting out with the progress of the Giant Bunny painting...
This is where it's at right now, I painted the last two layers of the Bunny, I think it turned out GREAT! It looks 3D-ish.... I have more to do on the background... I just haven't decided yet..
Went Thrift Shopping ;) my favorite!
Today's Thrift Score is:
This awesome set of 3 porcelain deer with gold antlers and accents...they're big, the buck is around 12" long and 10" tall!
and last but not least,
I saw Grand Image artist Lily Connor's artwork on the TV show Parenthood!
(Season 4; Episode 10)

 Pretty Cool!

The Vintage, Aluminum Holiday Tree got set up and decorated with Black & White Velvet Striped Balls, hand blown black-gray glass Hearts & Diamonds, Candy Canes and
White Doves!
 Very shiny and bright!

Silvery- Holiday Goodness:

I'm pretty excited about today's thrift finds! I found a cute deer tea-light candle holder, it originally came in a set but the other poor deer had a broken leg, so I separated them. Then I found this wonderfully silky, vintage round/tuffed pillow, Gorgeous! and the ultimate find?!!
Vintage Aluminum X-mas tree branches! I have one of the Original trees from the 50's and I was stoked to find extra branches,.99 cents for the bunch! Now I will have extra when the others wear out... Yay!
I'm planning on putting up the tree this weekend, I just made some space in the living room... stay tuned to see the gleaming tree in it's fullest silvery goodness!

Whoa!

I just noticed it's been awhile....
I've just been hanging around...trying to piece together my studio and  decorate the new house...
I'm also getting ready for a whole bunch of art shows! (more info coming soon on those)
Today's post is me being inspired
by the "Random Light" by Bertjan Pot .I would love to buy one but it's out of my price range right now, But when I become a famous artist I will buy one or five!
(I promise Bertjan)

So.... for now I shall attempt to make my own version to satisfy my needy design needs... I will make mine out of yarn... gray yarn... This is the yarn wrapped around the ball....
and here is the light shade dry with the ball deflated and pulled out....
Now I have to figure out where to hang it.....
While I'm figuring that out... check out these
"Carbon Copy" and "Carbon Chair" Bertjan made, This chair was completely hand coiled and is 100% carbon fiber and epoxy (so, no metal frame!). The pattern on the seat looks random but actually reflects the strength patter. Every point on the rim of the chair is connected with the 4 points connecting the seat to the base-frame. The Carbon Chair is sold through Moooi.
Image from Bertjan Pot’s

oh heavens...
and his "Jumper" Chair
Jumper is a chair upholstered with a knitted woolen cover. The cover was knitted on a machine that knitted the whole piece in one go. Normally a knitted woolen cover would not make it trough an abrasion test, but by felting the cover (washing it at a high temperature) the textile became very dense and durable. Jumper was designed for the British brand Established & Sons.
and Mr. Bertjan Pot himself...
 Loving  all his designs!
Keep checking back to see where I hang my giant yarn ball light shade!

I'm working on some Porcelain Hand Painted Spoons, They will be available in my Etsy shop soon!
And today's Thrift Finds:
a GIANT 15" Round 13" tall Fat Lava White and Black Planter,
Set of Rubber Somethings... (Trivets?) I bought a sh*t Ton of them, I'm thinking of hooking them together and making a curtain/screen out of them... or maybe a round light shade... I dunno...
Found a Charcoal Gray and Black plaid, Wool blanket and a White and Gray vintage, tweed like, table cloth!
What a great day!

Day after surgery....

I had an Arthrocentesis on my left jaw, biopsy on my lip and a spot lazered off next to my right on (not pictured) the triple whammy!

This is when I got home from surgery yesterday,
my lip before and after
laying in bed, starting to swell and bruise...
over night it bruised and swelled up a lot, today feels like someone hit me with a baseball bat....
